When you can enroll
Open enrollment runs November 1 through January 15. Outside that window you need a qualifying event, such as moving, losing coverage or having a child.
If you have no qualifying event or don’t qualify for financial help, there are private health plans you can sign up for in any month of the year.

If you still end up without help because of your income, or arrive outside open enrollment with no qualifying event, we offer private health plans, from major medical to limited-benefit everyday plans; availability varies by state and we review it at your appointment. If you qualify for a good subsidy, the marketplace is still better.
